International Communications Strategy

Back in 2006, I was in between books when, business communications expert, Silvia Cambie, invited me to co-author the social media section of a book on INTERNATIONAL COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGY, a business book for communications professionals and senior business executives. Given my love of blogging, podcasting and social media generally, I naturally jumped at the opportunity.

Over the next 18 months, I had a fascinating and very fun time researching how businesses and communities have been using social media to develop their communications strategies, speaking to and emailing a range of people around the world, including a journalist in Burkino Faso, the CEO of a health focused social network in Texas, litbloggers in Malaysia and learning about how social media is being used by animal welfare groups in China. You can see a list of the people who contributed to the know-how in the book in the Acknoweldgements to Contributors page at the wiki site that I set up during the research phase.

As you can see from the title of the wiki about the book, we initially called the book New Trends in International Public Relations but once the manuscript was completed, we discussed the final title with the publishers, Kogan Page, and settled on the current title INTERNATIONAL COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGY. You can read my blog about these behind-the-scenes discussion in my post New Title for the Book.

You can read my blog posts as I was researching and developing the book, by going to my blog ZenGuideand clicking on the Category called International Communications Strategy.

INTERNATIONAL COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGY is now available from all good bookshops.

You can order a copy from Amazon.co.uk here.
